Define the sample brief before the sample ships
An OEM sample should answer a commercial question. Record the target application, product configuration, preferred nozzle and needle, compressor pairing, kit contents, packaging level, logo or label requirements, and destination market before the sample is prepared.
A vague sample request creates vague feedback and makes later changes harder to track.
Review the physical product first
Check the airbrush body, trigger movement, cup or bottle connection, nozzle access, hose fitting, compressor behavior, pressure adjustment, and included accessories. Test the product with the intended paint or liquid instead of relying only on an empty-air demonstration.
Record both what works and what needs refinement. Photos and short test notes are more useful than a general statement that the sample is good or bad.
Review the kit and packaging together
If the final product will be sold as a kit, inspect the whole bundle:
- airbrush and compressor pairing
- hose, adapter, cleaning tools, and spare parts
- inner packaging and protective fit
- manual, label, barcode, and warning information
- carton dimensions and packing quantity
The package should communicate the same use case as the product. A detail-oriented kit should not be presented like a basic entry bundle.
Confirm documentation and change control
Before approval, confirm the document scope by SKU and configuration. Certification or test documentation should not be described as covering every product automatically.
Keep one approved version for the product, packaging artwork, instruction insert, and accessory list. Any later change to the nozzle, compressor, plug, label, or carton should be recorded and rechecked.
Bulk approval sign-off
The approval record should include the approved SKU, sample date, test conditions, packaging version, required documents, open issues, and the person responsible for final sign-off.
This creates a repeatable bridge from sample approval to a stable first order and later replenishment.
