


Define the repair size
Automotive touch-up airbrushes are for small repair work, not full vehicle repainting. The setup should be chosen around stone chips, bumper scratches, mirror covers, door edges, wheel touch-up, plastic trim, or used car reconditioning.
The first sourcing question is the repair size. A 0.3 mm airbrush can work well for small defects and controlled edges. A 0.5 mm airbrush or mini spray gun may be more practical when the repair area grows.

Do not choose only by maximum pressure. Automotive touch-up needs controlled pressure, dry air, proper masking, and paint testing.
Nozzle and compressor logic
For small chips and tight repair marks, a fine airbrush gives better control and reduces overspray. For wheel faces, larger bumper sections, or broader blending work, a larger nozzle or mini spray gun may save time.
Compressor choice depends on work location:

Automotive paint systems can dry quickly around the needle and nozzle. A repair kit should plan:
